During my visit to Japan in October I was a speaker at an MCT event held at Microsoft HQ. I also took the two-day Microsoft Instructor Led Training course facilitated by Microsoft Partner, Voltedge Learning based in Tokyo. I passed and reached the halfway point to becoming a coveted MCT.
However, I’ve chosen not to pursue full MCT status. Some would look down their noses at me thinking I am not worthy in this space. It requires passing what I belief, for me personally, far too deep focused Microsoft technical exams.
Instead, I focus on my unique Prosci ADKAR strengths as a coveted Adoption & Change Consultant in the Skilling & Enablement stream at Sulava Gulf. My role is rare indeed and all about creating personalised customer content and facilitating empathetic M365 Copilot Champion sessions that drive real business impact. I help customers craft success stories that align with their strategic priorities – stories that don’t just inspire but clearly demonstrate ROI from M365 Copilot adoption. These outcomes reveal a critical dimension of value that many technical consultants overlook—the human side of AI-driven transformation, which must be “sticky” to be sustainable.
Please note: “Real stories” make adoption sticky. They are NOT the same as “USE CASES”, of which the technical training consultants help the license holders to develop with a view to create Agents. These represent “art of the possible” scenarios that have yet to deliver measurable ROI on Copilot licenses. In contrast, real stories showcase proven outcomes and tangible business value, turning potential into performance. Both are vitally important in the enablement process!
Real success stories become priceless when paired with the Copilot + Viva Insights + Power Platform, Dashboard, showcasing productivity gains and adoption trends. This powerful blend of qualitative storytelling and quantitative, data-driven insights creates a compelling narrative that not only inspires but proves impact.
Note: Read the complex small print for MCT certification and renewal. Starting October 1, 2026, MCTs must complete six sessions or six training days per renewal year using Microsoft-approved courseware, with proof logged in Metrics That Matter or similar systems. The standard MCT track requires at least one role-based Associate or Expert-level certification (e.g., Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365), as Copilot certifications alone don’t qualify. However, Microsoft’s 2025 pilot introduced an End User Qualification path for Copilot trainers, requiring completion of Copilot courseware, passing AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals), and instructional skills validation through an approved provider.
